No stranger to controversy, Spanish forward Diego Costa

In what appeared to be an attempt to avoid punishment, Costa then threw his arms (top left) around the Everton midfielder in a friendly embrace. But he did not fool referee Michael Oliver who presented him with a second yellow - and a subsequent red card - in the 84th minute. Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was given a ten game ban for biting a Chelsea player in April 2013.
