Police Arrest Actress Mercy Aigbe And Her Brother In Osogbo

Heavily armed policemen on a stop-and-search, arrested Mercy Aigbe and her brother at Olaiya Junction, Osogbo, Osun State, after firing multiple shots into the air.

During the search, the police saw a police cap on the dashboard of her car and interrogated the actress. Mercy Aigbe reportedly flared up and insulted the policemen, who then seized her mobile phone. Her husband who is said to be a police officer then called and pleaded with the policemen to release her.

The scene attracted a huge crowd, prompting the policemen to call for reinforcement to prevent the crowd from attacking them.

Adedeji, an eyewitness according to punch, said, “When the policemen got to the junction, they went to the parked car and ordered the driver to roll down the glass of the car because it was tinted and they could not identify those in the car. Immediately the driver rolled the glasses down Mercy Aigbe rushed out of the car to confront the policemen.

They eventually took her and the boy who drove, away.” Her brother was pushed into the back of the parol van, while Aigbe was allowed to remain in her car which was driven away by a policeman.
