Despite Nick Cannon's claims that he just wants his ex Mariah Carey to
be happy, it has constantly been reported that the entrepreneur refuses
to sign the paperwork to make their divorce final. Now, for the first
time since their split, he's speaking out on the allegations, saying
that's all completely false.
"There's nothing to tell," he said during an appearance on Extra.
"Me and Mariah get along great, and it's a process. Nobody is holding
nothing up. Why would I hold it up? I want her to be happy."
Continuing to gush about the music icon, he said, "She is such a beautiful spirit, and we put the kids first."
These words come just a few days after it was reported that he refused to sign their final divorce papers, stopping her from legally marrying her billionaire fiancée, James Packer.
While sources told the site Nick "still loves Mariah and doesn't want
to officially let her go," he said those are just rumors that hold
absolutely no validity.
Mariah officially got engaged to her Australian beau in January, and
even said they're aiming to walk down the aisle later this year, but
said that may have to be pushed back since, "there's a lot on my plate."
