A Philadelphia mother killed her
babies during a family vacation in Florida and is now facing two counts of
premeditated murder. Sophia Hines
was arrested after her 3-year-old daughter and 7-month-old son were found dead
inside a Miramar home on Wednesday.
Police arrived at the home around 5:20 p.m. following a 911 call
reporting a “medical emergency.” Upon arrival they were led to the back
of the house where the two unresponsive children, whose names have not
been released publicly, were found.
Miramar Fire Rescue pronounced the babies dead at the scene of the crime shortly after failed attempts to revive them.
“They seemed happy, like there was nothing wrong with them,” said
neighbor Janae Greenway about seeing the children the day before their
tragic deaths. “They seemed like they were taken care of.”
No further information about Hines or what led her to kill her children has been released.
