Brave Mother Fights Off Mountain Lion Who Attacked Her 5-year-old Son In Colorado

A 5-year-old boy is recovering in a Denver hospital after being attacked by a mountain lion on Friday night in Lower Woody Creek. The boy's mother fought off the animal and brought him to the hospital and after initial treatment in Aspen Valley Hospital, the boy was transferred to Children's Hospital in Denver. He's in fair condition while his mother has been treated and released.
The boy and his mother have not been identified and there's no word on what kind of injuries they suffered.

There's also no information on what happened to the mountain lion, which is also known as a puma, cougar or panther. Though mountain lions are not uncommon in Colorado, sightings are rare.
