In as much as laminating a certificate makes it safer and easier to store, it has also been discovered that the process of lamination does flatten out the security mark on documents, thereby rendering it invalid in some circumstances.
The heat and pressure of the lamination machine wipes off the impression of security seal on any certificate. some organisations, such as embassies, foreign school, etc attach so much importance to the security mark on certificates. Lamination makes it difficult to inspect/verify the security seal...So the next time you add a feather to your cap through the bagging of a certificate, think carefully before going through this security check...
