A burka-clad babysitter has been arrested in Moscow after she walked through the streets carrying the severed head of a four-year-old girl.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has warned those who are claiming to be representing the group, including the members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and its youth wing to stop such move, that nobody speaks or represents them, unless such a person or persons are designated officers of IPOB worldwide.


The group also said that its leader Mr. Kanu said he would rather die in jail than for the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to claim the glory of his release as he has no business with the Igbo Socio cultural organization.

Lagos state launches rape kit...

 

In line with the mandate of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Board at the weekend launched the Sexual Assault Standing Order and Sexual Assault Evidence Examination Kit, also referred to as rape kits.
Coordinator of the DSVRT, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi said the launch was done at a training session for Health workers of Primary Health Care Centres.

She listed the five pilot centres to include Ogudu, Ita-elewa in Ikorodu, Ajilete in Ifako-Ijaiye, Palm Avenue in Mushin and Oshodi in Oshodi-Isolo.

Three Men, Aged 70 Years, 65 Years And 58 Years Rape15-year-old Girl

THE Police in Delta State have arrested three men, aged 70 years, 65 years and 58 years respectively for severally raping/defiling a 15-year-old girl.

The mother of the girl reported the alleged crime involving the suspects, Kenneth, Ability and Ogwe at the Police Stations, Agbor.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, in a statement, confirming the arrest of the suspects, said the mother of the girl reported that they took advantage of the state of health of her 15-year-old daughter.

Supreme Court affirms death sentence on ‘Rev. King’

 
The Supreme Court on Friday in Abuja affirmed the death sentence passed on the General-Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, popularly called “Rev. King”, over the brutal killing of a member of the church, Ann Uzoh.
Delivering the judgment, Justice Sylvester Nguta, held that the convict’s appeal lacked merit.
“The ‎facts of the case could have been lifted from horror film and the court cannot but resolve all the 12 issues raised in this appeal against Ezeugo.

He said: "The Rivers State Government will take up this unfortunate incident with the appropriate authorities. The military must subject itself to civil authority. I am the chief security officer of this state. Before any deployment of soldiers, I should be informed, but in this case I was not aware. "I will always support the security agencies in the fight against criminals and criminality, but I will never support the killing of innocent persons. Why I Won’t Resign As Senate President’ – Bukola Saraki

Speaking on Friday during the StateCraft Masterclass event at the Social Media Week, Lagos, Saraki said his assets declaration trial is more of ‘persecution’ than an actual fight against corruption.

When asked by Declan Galvin of Sahara Reporters why he had thus far, failed to walk away from the position of Senate President, he said: “It is not a fight against corruption, it is more about being persecuted.”

He further stated that: “We are public servants and you must fill your asset declaration form when you get in office and I did mine 13 years ago.”

“The charges have nothing to do with corruption or money being stolen anywhere and that is why at the end of the day, I will have my day in court. Because it is not about corruption.”

INEC Fixes Dates For Edo And Ondo Governorship Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission has released dates for the conduct of governorship elections in both Edo and Ondo States.

The commission said that while governorship election would hold on September 10 in Edo State, it said that Ondo would take its turn on November 26, 2016.

INEC’s Deputy Director in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Nick Dazang, made the dates known to our correspondent in a telephone interview.

Four person confirmed dead in Yola Explosion-NEMA

Four persons have been confirmed dead while a few were injured by an explosion at a police anti-bomb squad office in Yola, Adamawa State, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, said Thursday.

The injured were being treated at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, NEMA tweeted hours after the blast.

Witnesses had said earlier that many police officers were feared killed by the explosion.

The blast, which occurred shortly before noon, affected all buildings within the office of the Anti-Bomb Squad, including the State Investigation Bureau (SIB), and Motor Traffic Division (MTD).

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Mohammed Gazali, said most of the victims of the explosion were police personnel. He did not give figures of casualties.

Mr. Gazali said the blast was caused by bombs recovered from Boko Haram insurgents and warehoused by the police alongside other crime exhibits.

“Policemen were mostly affected and we don’t know the actual casualties for now as the place is not yet safe for us to go in,” Mr. Gazali said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the explosion also affected the walls of nearby Majalisa Primary School where some pupils were injured.

The state Commissioner for Information, Ahmad Sajoh, confirmed that the pupils sustained minor injuries and had been treated and discharged from hospital.
